Produktbeschreibung:From Amazon.co.uk:The title
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (or
the curious incident of the dog in the night-time as it appears within the book) is an appropriate one for Mark Haddon's ingenious novel both because of its reference to that most obsessive and fact-obsessed of detectives, Sherlock Holmes, and because its lower-case letters indicate something important about its narrator.
Christopher is an intelligent youth who lives in the functional hinterland of autism--every day is an investigation for him because of all the aspects of human life that he does not quite get. When the dog next door is killed with a garden fork, Christopher becomes quietly persistent in his desire to find out what has happened and tugs away at the world around him until a lot of secrets unravel messily.
Haddon makes an intelligent stab at how it feels to, for example, not know how to read the faces of the people around you, to be perpetually spooked by certain colours and certain levels of noise, to hate being touched to the point of violent reaction. Life is difficult for the difficult and prickly Christopher in ways that he only partly understands; this avoids most of the obvious pitfalls of novels about disability because it demands that we respect--perhaps admire--him rather than pity him. --

Mark Haddon tells in his book "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time" the story about a 15-year-old boy called Christopher Boone who lives with his father in Swindon.
One night as he was walking in the neighborhood he found the dead dog Wellington who is the dog of Mrs Shears. While he was doing detective work to find the murderer of Wellington he discoverd some familiy secrets. The story of Christopher is very interesting and different because you can look at his life as an autist.

Mark Haddon`s book is a portrayal of an emotionally dissociated mind. Christopher is fifteen and has Aspersers Syndrome. He knows a very great deal about maths but very little about human beings. He starts to write a murder mystery novel about who killed Wellington, Mrs. Shears poodle.
It is a funny, impressive as well as a sad book. There are so many topics in this novel, it is like a collection of ideas. Every chapter I was wondering what would happen next. This book is a good opportunity to get an idea of the mind of an autistic boy. Anyway it is an eye-opening work with a humorous touch, easy to read and useful for many grades. The irresistible voice of the young narrator, Christopher, makes Haddon`s work significantly interesting. Mark Haddon wrote a clever and genuinely moving novel. I think it contains a good message: see peoples` strong sides and support these abilities. Push them in the right direction. So this book is a must-read for a general readership.

This amazing detective story narrated by an intelligent 15-year-old boy, named Christopher, with a form of autism, is funny, sad and sometimes shocking. From cover to cover the book is easy and the reader is faced with the main theme- the murder of the neighbour`s dog. Christopher decided to catch the murderer. During his efforts he found letters from his supposedly dead mother and the story takes an unexpected turn. Nevertheless, the story shows the difficulties deal with autism.
Read this and enjoy it.
